What To Expect From Your Facial Waxing Service

We use a gentle wax that grips the hair, not the skin. That distinction matters a lot when it comes to the delicate skin on your face, and it’s exactly why we don’t cut corners on product quality.

Before we start, your esthetician will do a quick skin assessment to understand your sensitivity and what results you’re after. Then we get to work: precise, clean, and as comfortable as a wax can be.

Once your service is done, we’re not finished. We walk you through post-wax skincare so your results last and your skin stays calm, smooth, and happy.

Luxury Facial Waxing in Houston

We take a skincare-first approach to every facial service, with customized skin prep, gentle waxing techniques, and soothing post-treatment care included. Unlike chain salons that treat waxing facial hair like an afterthought, we treat it like the precision service it is. Our goal is simple: give you the smoothest, most personalized results in the Houston Heights area.

Before & After Care Tips

Before your appointment: Come in with clean skin if you can. Stop using active skincare ingredients, such as Retinol, AHAs, and salicylic acid, at least three days before your visit. These can make facial skin more sensitive and prone to irritation or lifting during waxing. If you’ve recently had a chemical peel or microdermabrasion, give it at least a week before booking.

After your appointment: Skip heavy sweating, sun exposure, tanning, and harsh exfoliants for the first 24–48 hours. Hold off on heavy makeup for at least 24 hours to keep your pores clear. Your esthetician will walk you through personalized aftercare before you leave.

Frequently Asked Questions About Facial Waxing

Does facial waxing make hair grow back thicker?

No. This is one of the most persistent myths about facial waxing, and it’s just not true. Waxing pulls hair from the root, and over time, repeated waxing actually tends to weaken the follicle, so hair often grows back finer and sparser with consistent appointments. What can make hair appear thicker is shaving, because cutting the hair at the surface creates a blunt tip. Waxing does the opposite.

You’ll need to pause it before your appointment. Retinol thins the outer layer of skin, making it significantly more fragile. Waxing over it can cause lifting, irritation, or microtears, especially on the face. Stop using Retinol or any retinoid-based product at least three days before your appointment (ideally a week, to be safe). If you’re not sure what counts, bring your product list and your esthetician can help you figure it out.

In most cases, yes. That’s actually one of the reasons we do a skin assessment before every service. Sensitive skin needs a different approach. We use wax formulated to grip hair rather than skin, which makes a real difference for clients who are more reactive. Just be upfront with your esthetician about what your skin does and doesn’t tolerate, and we’ll take it from there.

A few things to know: if you’re currently on Accutane, waxing is a no-go, and it remains off-limits for up to a year after you stop taking it. Other prescription acne medications and certain antibiotics can also make your skin too sensitive for waxing. Active breakouts, open skin, sunburn, or certain skin conditions, such as severe rosacea, psoriasis, or eczema during a flare-up are also contraindications. When in doubt, mention it during your skin assessment. Your esthetician is there to protect your skin, not judge it.
